In 2007, Britt Yap originally co-founded UPROAR Magazine. After much success in producing five issues of the quarterly mixed martial arts magazine, she decided to discontinue printing and focus her time and effort on her two jobs—adjunct journalism instructor and assistant director of University Relations at Hawai‘i Pacific University.
After spending a few years in Northern California, Yap returned home and realized there was a need in the community for someone with her skillset. Rather than deal with a large PR firm, businesses can ask Britt for help. They can choose a specific project off the menu—press release writing, for example—or they can hire Britt her per hour to do any or all of the following: writing, editing, social media development and management, website management, photography, layout and design, press release writing, resume and cover letter writing, etc. She enjoys her work and believes communication is key to any successful business; whether it’s communicating with your employees, your customers, or the public.
